The Zay Imitative X Amalie Beljafla
Participating in the first Al Shindagha Days, by Dubai Culture taking place 9-18th Jan 2020 as part of Dubai Shopping Festival in the Banks of Dubai Creek.
This collaborative installation highlights the work of the talented UAE artist Amalie Beljafla as she composes three panels that dissect 3 UAE traditional outfits into their multiple components. Entitled: Desert, Sea & Fantasy.
The components are then sketched and identified to entertain while educating the public and spreading awareness as they interact creatively with the panels posing for images of themselves in traditional UAE dress.
While the act of tagging such images utilizes SM as a platform to spread awareness to the role The Zay Initiative is playing in celebrating the preservation of Arab heritage. As it seeks to preserve tangible and intangible heritage through the collection, documentation, conservation and exhibition of traditional costume/dress and modes of bodily adornment.
Thus preserving the names and stories to empower women by insuring that their voices transcend time.

شاركت مُبادرة زَيّ (٩-٢٠ يناير ٢٠٢٠)
في “أيام الشندغة” التي تقيمها هيئة دبي للثقافة للمرة الأولى وذلك كجزء من مهرجان دبي للتسوقالذي يُقام على ضفاف خور دبي.
تتركّز المشاركة بـ ٣ لوحات تشريحية لـ٣ أثواب تقليدية إماراتية، حيث تُسلِّط من خلالها الفنانةالإماراتية الموهوبة أماليا بالجافلة على مكونات طبيعة الإمارات، فتجمع بين البحر والصحراء، وتستخدمخيالها لمزيد من الإبداع والسحر.
واللوحات التشريحية تمنح الجمهور متعة مشاهدتها، بالإضافة إلى نشر الوعي بأهمية الحفاظ علىالملابس التراثية وذلك أثناء تفاعلهم بشكل خلاق مع اللوحات التي تمثل صوراً لأثواب إماراتية تراثيةأصلية.
ولا شك أن تلك اللوحات توظف التواصل الاجتماعي كمنصة لنشر الوعي بالدور الذي تؤديه مبادرة زَيّبالتراث العربي والإسلامي، وتسعى للمحافظة على التراث المادي والمعنوي، من خلال جمع وتوثيق وحفظوعرض نماذج مُتحفية لكل من الملابس والحُلي التقليدية، وتوثيق الأسماء والحكايات المرتبطة بها، بمايسهم في تمكين المرأة وإبقاء صوتها حاضراً يتجاوز مفهوم الزمن.
